Hello there...
The world is changing, and so must I.
I've spent the last few decades, like many of us, sucked into the black hole of social media garbage. It's done a number on me, specifically tricking me to perform for likes, views, comments, etc.
The last few years I've been slowly moving away from that, choosing things that feel nicer for my brain, like reading and actually writing, instead of scrolling endlessly, or coming up with enough hashtags to make this tasteful photo of my motorcycle more popular with people who actually don't give a shit about me.
I've mused about regressing to Web 1.0 style things with my friends for a while now, especially since all the sites we gather on now have turned into garbage nuclear wastelands of thoughtless nonsense. Today I'd like to make that musing something real. Perhaps this will, like many projects I start, fade out into the forgotten, or maybe it will become an outlet I rely on and look forward to.
Regardless of how it goes, I know what I want it to be (for now): a depsoitory for my thoughts, progress, and discoveries as I make, build, and fix things. I know that I don't want it to be for any audience, and I don't want to make it for the same attention I did when I used instagram or facebook. I just want to do it for the sake of doing it, and for myself.
If I should have a few readers here and there, great, even if they're just friends. Even better if I document something someone is also working on and uses my findings to inform their own. I'd love for that.
But for now it will just be a place to put things and thoughts, perhaps it will grow to something larger or smaller in the future, we shall see.
